Coronavirus (COVID-19) UPDATE
We stand with the federal government and other grocery executives to help keep the food supply available to all who would like and need in this time of crisis. We have also put in place a plan in conjunction with the CDC and OSHA for the safest buying experience possible.
To ensure our customers of our commitment combating the Coronavirus at the Carolina Meat & Fish Co, we are here to update you. First of all, we bleach everything, or use ammonia or Quat. Always! And we will continue to be vigilant about cleaning. From door handles, to the credit card machine to washing our hands and always using a brand new pair of gloves to handle your food. Our employees have a Health Policy, and we are always monitoring them. No one comes in sick, it’s never worth it. Customers are encouraged to freely use gloves set out at the front of the store.
We have a new COVID-19 cleaning procedure policy from guidance from the CDC and OSHA that every employee has/will read and sign and comply with.
Guidance from OSHA on preparing the workplace. We are currently considered a low risk by the CDC and OSHA as low volume retail with manageable space.
Lower Exposure Risk (Caution)
Lower exposure risk (caution) jobs are those that do not
require contact with people known to be, or suspected of
being, infected with SARS-CoV-2 nor frequent close contact
with (i.e., within 6 feet of) the general public. Workers in this
category have minimal occupational contact with the public
and other coworkers.
Here is a link to the CDC for more accurate information and updates. We’ll keep you posted and we apologize ahead of time if our place smells ultra clean or maybe a little like bleach. We are doing this to protect you and our employees. Stay safe and come and see us, we’ll probably be cleaning.
