Coronavirus (COVID-19) UPDATE
As of 5PM June 26th, 2020 all employees are wearing masks to protect you and the environment.
We stand with the federal government and other grocery executives to help keep the food supply available to all who would like and need in this time of crisis. We have also put in place a plan in conjunction with the CDC and OSHA for the safest buying experience possible.
To ensure our grocery customers of our commitment combating the Coronavirus at the Carolina Meat & Fish Co, we are here to update you. First of all, we bleach everything, or use ammonia or Quat. Always! And we will continue to be vigilant about cleaning. From door handles, to the credit card machine to washing our hands and always using a brand new pair of gloves to handle your food. Our employees have a Health Policy, and we are always monitoring them. No one comes in sick, it’s never worth it. Customers are encouraged to freely use gloves set out in the front of the store.
We have a new COVID-19 cleaning procedure policy from guidance from the CDC and OSHA that every employee has/will read and sign and comply with. UPDATE: All employees are to wear face coverings.
Here is a link to the CDC for more accurate information and updates. We’ll keep you posted and we apologize ahead of time if our place smells ultra clean or maybe a little like bleach. We are doing this to protect you and our employees. Stay safe and come and see us, we’ll probably be cleaning.
Update: January, 2021. All eligible employees will be given the opportunity for COVID-19 vaccinations per CDC and NCDHHS guidelines in Phase 1B, Group 2 or Group 3, Essential Workers, (grocery store), or as it changes. Our workers work well within 6 feet of contact of retail customers and we are suggesting to our grocery team that qualifies to be vaccinated when it applies to them.
It clearly states: ” Phase 1b: Adults 75 years or older and frontline essential workers.
The next phase of vaccinations will open in groups.
- Group 1: Anyone 75 years or older regardless of medical condition or living situation. People do not have to have a chronic health condition.
- Group 2: Health care and frontline essential workers who are 50 years of age or older.
Any employee that qualified at the time of this news release (Dec 30th, 2020) from the NCDHHS that made an appointment or received a vaccine was in full and legal compliance of the roll out. The NCDHHS changed their Groups on January 14th, 2021 and moved the original Group 2 to Group 3. Any employee that made an appointment and received their vaccine during that time were in full compliance with the CDC and NCDHHS guidelines.
Also, due to COVID-19 we are not accepting any returns at this time and until further notice. We are sorry and we hope you understand.
